I have a new clam ice shack that the stitching come undone on it. Makes me mad that is brand new and first trip out the stitching came apart. Anyone out there know what type of sewing thread to use and what thickness of the thread? I'm going to try to repair it myself. Any help would be great full.

Use marine thread. It's made for the elements

I've had great luck using wax coated dental floss, on outdoor products. It's tough and it seems to last and last. Also the wax helps it glide easily as you sew.

Can you return it? If you can I definitely would.

You'll want a curved upholstery needle for it, unless you want to run in and out of the tent while you sew it up. Upholstery thread or the high gauge thread they sell at Tandy Leathercraft for leather projects would work well.

Most fabric stores will carry what you need. Curved needle, and 100% polyester UV resistant thread. If you don't get the UV resistant you will end up repairing your own sewing within two seasons or so.

It's a common problem with this shack. I have a friend who had the same problem with his, in the same spot. I'm going to fix it myself. I need it for the perch tournament this next weekend. Clam will replace it if I cut holes in the shack I have now and send it back to them. Thanks for all the responses. That gave me some good ideas. I knew I could count on my fellow fisherman.
