Went up to porkipine today not fishin road going up to dam in bad shape looks like a frozen river took the snow cat up and down don't know weather it will help,tromped around at the top deep snow no one fishing thre or at hyrum

Thanks for the report... Do you recommend taking a snowmobile up over the dam if possible? Did you happen to notice how wide the edge margins are between the ice and edge? I'm thinking it won't be a go up there until we get several inches of ice across the new wider margins, but I don't like to get wet... Edges looked soft snowmobile easy u might even get a truck to the dam one had made it and went further than the top

Talked to lion hunter said he pulled someone out around dam but then they got a lion must have pushed him out cause he crossed res then went up north side,good deal I don't need them deer eating machines

I think last year was sort of slow for most folks, but the year before was fair. I didn't limit, but got 5 or 6 most trips. Last year I only seen a few reports of any Koke caught but it was a short season and Bear Lake had ice so not a lot of people fished it. Hope that helps a little. J

If only someone got an ice update for that place I'd be taking my snowmobile on the ice there .-.

The ice was still marginal up there before the warm and storm, so I'd be very careful taking a sled on the ice now. I think it may be okay to walk on, but it had thin areas out in, so I'd be careful. I'm thinking by Monday the edges may be thick enough and then after checking on your way out you might be able to do it. After falling through the edges up there twice in my lifetime I don't want to do it again it gets deep so fast you get wet to your waist. Wet feet sucks but wet body and it's time to go home. Take a long plank, if my figuring is close there will only be about a inch and a half on the edges. But that maybe enough to tighten up the slush. Be careful and good luck and thanks. J

Probably for the best, I checked my farm pond and the edge cracks really bad when I step on it but it held me. Out on the ice it seems fine. 8" total ice with slush pockets in the middle. I think tomorrow might be ok to fish if we're careful. Later J
