It must have gotten fairly hard. It held a helicopter up from going all the way through the ice LOL. That was a bad accident. Trying to figure out as I think the agencies are still trying, to figure out how and why they were flying where they were. Those power lines are huge and have the orange ball warnings that all power lines like these are supposed to have on them. To bad there was one death but I hope the survivor is doing ok. No reports that I know of on their health.

I never hear about that, that sounds scary, glad one of them survived. Did it hit a power line? If so, that's crazy they got that close to them.

Reply to my own post - I was listening to the news last night and the Federal Aviation Administration released their report (dont remember if it was final or draft final), but it was interesting, and my heart goes out to the families directly affected with this crash, but, the pilot and passenger were taking photos/videos of elk along the power lines (most everyone knows where that is). If that really is the case, harassing wildlife from the air is a violation of Fish and Game regs, so if F&G want to push it even further, which may not be the best choice, but, might also get the message out to STOP flying over, around wildlife with aircraft and other motorized vehicles that yearly impact big game at this time of year. I know that there's gonna be some that wont appreciate this post, but, facts are the facts too. Personal safety over self promotion with pictures can sometimes may not be the smartest decision in a persons life. I hope that the survivor recovers and my thoughts still go out to the one person who didnt make it, but, to everyone else that does this for self enjoyment. Please think before you do it.

That explains it all, it's one thing to take pics of wildlife from a safe distance , while flying over but totally different when flying that low and harassing wildlife when they are at their lowest point and stressing because of Winter. And why was the pilot filming too, that's crazy, you would think an experienced pilot would know better.

That's too bad, a death that could have been prevented by a little thought, shouldn't have been that close to any animals. Very Sad.
