Pie Trail Report part 1
#1
Okay, not so much fishing related but figured I would give you a pie trail report - at least a part 1 report

Headed out for 5 days to southern Utah for a wrm spring break. It was not the first three days were snow and cold.

1st stop Heber @ the Hub. Dinner was fantastic. Recommend the Chicken Fried Steak. Apple Pie was very good but a thicker crust. Not really flaky. Cheese cake was excellent. Buckwheat loved his 3 berry pie.

2nd stop Salina @ Moms Cafe. We stop here often when going through. There food is always good. Just grabbed some treats and a some Cherry Pie to have later that day. Cherry Pie was awesome as always

Fished Redmon Lake for pike and panfish. It was super cold and snowing. Had one bite only and left after a couple hours to the next pie place.

3rd stop Bicknell @ the Sunglow cafe Tried the sample platter that has the infamous Pickle Pie and Pinto pie as well as a oatmeal pie and buttermilk pie. The pickle pie is hard to describe. Cookie tried in the video link below. Not my thing. The pinto pie was not to bad. Loved the Buttermilk and Oatmeal pie. Took a coconut and Rees Pie to the Hotel to try later. Loved them both. Crust was excellent. Lunch was also very good at the Sunglow. The hamburger was top notch

4th stop Fruita @ Gifford House. This is in the Capital Reef Park. Maazing scenery. Great Indian wall carvings. Pretty crowded at the Gifford House location but we were able to snag some peach pie. It was really good. Flaky crust and sweet.

Stayed the Night in Torey - Part two of the update coming as I get more time to sit down

Remember: keep the lid on the worms, share your jerky, and stop by to say hi to Cookie and the Cowboy-Pirate crew
