Deer Creek this morning - Thursday
#1
Our last trip to DC was 10 wks ago.  Been spending our time at RP, Echo & Jordy since DC is more often than not a tough bite.  Other than the cooler air (49), water (64), and lake level, not much has changed. Worked the RR shoreline both south & north of ramp.  Boated a dozen smallies, but only two over 12".  Threw Bitsy Jigs, grubs, cranks & jerks.  Coming in to undo a shoreline snag, we did spook a 4# largie.
The bigger fish were spitting up craw parts.  Gorgeous day, but could have used a little wind, better baits, a forward-facing sonar, and some luck.  Definitely not our fault.

Catching could always be better, but it sounds like you had a good day to me, even without forward facing sonar.  Did you by chance try the shoreline on the railroad side of the lake?
