Willard Bay 5/18

Got a late start and hit the water about 2:00PM,went strait to the west dike and trolled a little,then casted no takers.went over to the SE corner and was marking fish off the old power line tower that is closest to the dike.in 14ft of water,started trolling blue back,chrome body wally divers I had a plane one on and my ten yr old had one that I modified,he caught three walleye to my none,he had at least ten hits in 2hr,and the wind got bad around 5:30 so we headed towards the marina.

Wind =NW 15-20 mph,water temp=61 degrees.

Ran into Tom P at the cleaning station,He had three nice wipers and released some.he said he was trolling half way up the west dike,about a half mile out from shore,running lures about 13ft down in 16-18ft of water.

I bet you boy was thrilled!! I must have just missed you. I was off the water at about 2 and spent about a half hour in the parking lot talking to AFDAN.

I'm glad to hear the walleye fishing is picking up. What is a modified wally diver?
I got there even later than you did, 4:30pm, I went out to the island and trolled east. All the way to the east shore I marked fish non stop, more fish than I've seen this year. They did not want anything I had to offer though, I then trolled back to the marina with no fish caught. The watched the pelicans eating catfish one after another so I decided to see if they were biting. I caught 10 on a jig and worm and then called it a day. I knew I should have got there earlier but at least it wasn't a total waste. WH2

I was at willard yesterday too. The waves were too bad for me at the South Marina so I trolled along the north around to the southwest corner. Picked up two walleye (Tasty), one wiper, and two cats on bottom bouncer/worm harness combo. A slow day, but 3 species in a day is a nice day in my book. I fished from 10:00 until about 3:30 p.m. Action was definitely better between about 1 and 3 than it was in the morning.

Teroy i thougt there was no walleye in willard ether but three weeks ago the only fish i got was a 22 inch walleye that made my day [] keep trying you will get one wando!
