DC sunday
#1
Got on DC sunday about 6AM to beat the power squadron and wind. Just caught some planter rainbows and a few small bass, all in the 12" range, no biggies, no walleye. I did have a friend and his daughter though along for the ride and they drove up and joined me for a couple hours later morning timeframe and they both caught a fish, was really happy for the little girl to catch one. Per the usual, the wind came up hard about noon, and of course the motorboaters showed up about the same time, so we ended at midday.

The inspection process and boat washdown situation was less of a hassle than i expected, no wash needed if you park your boat for 7 days, otherwise, a wash/cleaning required; seems like they had everyone moving along pretty well though.

Didnt mark as many fish as in years past; not sure why, but the wallsburg arm, rainbow bay and west of the park, didnt see many fish. Saw a fair amount around charleston though - most fish were holding deeper, in 15-30' of water, so if you go, plan on going a little deeper.

All in all a nice morning with great views of the backside of Timp, an excited little girl, and a few fish boated.
