[#0000FF]There are better ways to get "pickled" while fishing. And most of those methods require internal dosage.

PS...I have tried the vinegar method. Besides smelling like a tossed salad I noticed no decrease in the biting activity of mosquitoes or deer flies.

When I was on a six month assignment in the New Orleans area the hot remedy for biting insects was Avon Skin So Soft. Everybody slathered it all over to ward off skeeters and no-see-ums. It was a hoot to go into the local bait shops early in the morning and see all those big burly Cajun anglers...and then get a whiff of them all smelling like an evening on Bourbon Street.

But I gotta admit...I tried it and it did work. Not as good as Deep Woods Off, though. Those big swamp skeeters down there come in hot...with their power drills on high. Takes more than a whiff of Avon to slow them down.
