I headed out to Newcastle Friday. I mainly went to see if the bass have started to become active. One the first 5 casts I hooked 4 rainbows and it was that way almost all day. I would switch from spinners to jigs. I did managed to catch 5 smalls and missed a another big one. I thought I hooked a big small mouth but when it surficed it was this big rainbow. Here's the two big fish of the day plus one of the thousands of Golden shiners some idiot let go. Over all it was the best trout fishing I've seen here in a long time. I let go 30+ 10-12 inch rainbows and cuts and 5 bass. I couldn't count how many of those shiners.
