Spotted Bass Challenge
#1
I see that there is supposed to be a couple of waters in northern Utah that hold Spotted Bass.

I also see that there is not an entry in the Utah State record book for Spotted Bass.

I challenge some BFT member to get his/her name in the book by the end of summer.

See me about the prize when your application is in process.* **

Application for Catch and Release:

Application for Catch and Keep:

*To be judged by biggest not first.

** Challenge and prize not an action of BFT.

Lived in Utah all my life and been chasing bass for 35+ years and never heard of spotted bass in Utah. Can you give us a reputable source (DWR stocking report or something) for these supposed spotted bass waters. All I know of is northern strain largemouth, smallmouth, white, striped and wiper bass.

I have seen this talked about on BFT a few times in the past. There are some who claim to have caught them and others who are skeptical.

Here is one official site that claims they are established in the Little Bear / Logan.

Lets see if some one can prove it. Be nice to see Utah recognize another fish, and a really cool one at that.

From the USGS.

I know there are some on Utah BFT who have claimed to know of there existence in Utah.

One of you prove the neigh sayers wrong.

Also most bass fishermen who have never fished for them may not recognize one if they did catch one.

They might say wow that Large Mouth has a small head, or dang that Smallie sure is green.

Ofcoarse I am not talking about anyone who has posted to this post so far.[Smile]
