Hey y'all,
I went out this morning for some whitefish action from 9-12. It was a snowin' and a blowin'! Brrrrrr!
Sorry to say that I didn't get any whitefish bites (that I know of). We did catch two 24" cutts though in about 6-10' feet of water, so that tells me that the whities are definitely around. We tried casting and vertical jigging, getting a cutt on each method. Don't know if the whitefish are just not really going yet or if we just sucked, but I'll be back at it in a couple more days to go for a rematch.
We tried right in front of the marina just off of the rocks in water from 6-12'. I'm not sure if the east side is doing any better though. With the water being a little lower than last year the marina may not be very good this year. I do know that some whities have been caught on the east side in the last week though.
Oh well, try try again!
