There were 8 fishermen fishing on the docks. Fish was between 8-9.5 inches.

Some 9.5" crappie would sure make some Christmas fish fry!!

Hey, Phong, I was out there the other day and the regulars told me that the crappie fishing had been hot a while back but I couldn't expect to catch any now. Could you share how to do it or try to show me, again? PM me if you prefer.
The older I get the more I would rather be considered a good man than a good fisherman.

Hi Craig,
The crappies action was hot in November out on the rocky jetties. I caught them on my hand tied marabou jig 2 feet under a bobber. As for catching them through the ice around the docks, I don’t use the bobber. I noticed that all the crappies I caught is between 2-4ft down from the top of the water. I move around the docks with my showdown to locate the crappies. I have success using trout magnets, slab tail plastics, and marabou jugs to catch them. I wast out at the state park this morning, and the wind was wicked. The ice around the docks will be gone later today. Hope this help.

How deep was water please?

The water in the harbor is around 8 feet deep, and the crappies are in the middle of the water column.
