Launched north marina about 6:30, headed to freeway bay area, saw several boats there in south east corner but out a ways.  Picked up a  hefty channel cat, 4+ pounds, just a guess, in the first 10 minutes on a bottom bouncer with worm.  Action was fast for the next hour for wipers, all medium. Only got one long lining a crank, switched it up.  Slowed up, left at 11caught one small mouth, good size length,  but a tad thin.  All in all a very good day.

Saw numerous boils from sun up until 11.  Some were to close to shallow for the boat and the breeze to get at.  Others we trolled the area and it worked.

Sounds like you had a good morning. Were these boils close to shore or out away from shore? Lots of carp up against the shore, spawning right now.

I know that when the carp are spawning the cats and wipers will be in the rocks easy to catch from the dikes.
