Sept 2024 Florida New Smyrna Daytona Beach Orlando
#1
Long awaited Autumn 2024 is here, fall mullet run has begun, most of the baitfish migration is along the beaches, but plenty of mullet schools come inside the intracoastal waterway on their path south, to be in south Florida by winter. Makes for fun sight casting at baitfish on the surface with Jack Crevalle, Bluefish, Ladyfish attacking in easy to see whitewater splashes, cast lure or bait into the melee for a fast hookup. Love the fall after our long Florida summer, cool mornings, more ocean breezes, and north easters with cool north winds and big surf on the beach. As inshore water temperatures drop, lots of fish are happy with good fishing. Long time regular client Ty from Georgia out recently caught photo released this great Redfish in the Edgewater Backcountry with me ………..

Black Drum are a regular catch here all year long, a few bigger ones, most school size like this pair Leland and his dad caught and released …………..

It was a long hot Summer here as well, sure glad to see some cooler temps and the catching improving. I'm not really informed about fishing for salt water species, do redfish and drum taste good?
