DNR conservation officers received a tip on March 13 that two men were on the lake for several days and had an overlimit. The tipster also provided a license plate number and vehicle description, which helped officers track down the men on the 65,000-acre lake. The perch overlimit was located in the freezer of a cabin where the men were staying, according to conservation officers Neil Freborg and Gary Sommers.
Chris Ellsworth, 41, of Newberry, Mich., and Ralph M. Mitchell, 25, of Paradise, Mich., were 30 perch over the limit, resulting in a $700 fine and a $300 restitution charge for each. [/#000000]
