1 lb Cod, fresh or frozen
Salt and pepper to taste
1 ts Lemon juice
1 ts Crushed red pepper
8 Peppercorns
1 ts Coriander
1/2 ts Cumin
1 Garlic clove, minced
1 sm White onion
1/2 ts Turmeric or curry powder
1 c Coconut milk
Cut cod into 3/4 inch squares. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and lemon juice. Grind to a paste (in mortar or electric blender) the red pepper, peppercorns, coriander, cumin, garlic, onion and turmeric (or curry powder) with about 1 tablespoon Coconut milk; add to remaining milk. Cook the fish in the Coconut milk about 10 minutes, until fish flakes easily. Serve fish bites warm or cold from the sauce.
Makes 12 to 15 servings.
