2 - Pole Permit
#1
I am now the proud owner of an Idaho 2005 non-resident fishing license and 2 - pole permit. Can one use a second rod on Idaho waters?

Yes you can. Just not on Bear Lake on the Utah side. I found this out the hard way.[Sad]

Thanks, when I wrote, "Can one use a second rod on Idaho waters?" I left out "all" before Idaho. Do some waters have restrictions only allowing one rod?

To be honest I can't answer that. You'll need to look at the fishing regs. They are on the net. Idaho Fish and game.

I have found that the second pole permit is well worth the $12.50. The best advice I can give you is to check the regs or call the regional office before you go fishing. The only time that I can think of at the moment that you would be limited to one pole is when you are ice fishing bear lake or ice fishing the "no-bait" waters. There are probably a few other restrictions like boden mentioned at Bear Lake but I can think of any at the moment.
