CJ Strike 5/19 Report
#1
We went down to CJ Strike (Cottonwood) yesterday with the rest of Idaho [Wink]. The wind in the morning was howling through there and the water was pretty choppy so I opted not to drag out the tube. My son took his out and said it was a wild ride but got no fish. My wife and kids were setup on the bank so I joined them there. We used bobbers and worms. Ended up with about 30 bluegill, 10 crappies ( a couple of pretty nice ones), 1 perch, and three kitties. From what I saw, we probably caught more than any of the other bank fishers in our vicinity. Don't know if it was our magic touch or they weren't using the right bait or what. We saw a lot of boats come in and saw some real nice crappie and bass that they were showing off.

Anyway a good day for fishing. The wind died down some in the afternoon so it turned into a nice day to be there.

I was camping by the pump at cove arm. Trying mainly for cat fish, but caught 1 nice perch and a few small bass, and 3 yellow belly bullheads. Lost one big yellow belly and believe I lost a good cat fish. Never saw him but it was too big for a bullhead and fought like a cat.
Had to set the tent up after the wind blew obne side down then latter had to put on some guy ropes, real windy. Never put the toon in at all.
Wnet over to the dunes but just didn't want to fight the crouds and wind. Should have thought cause the Fly Fishers group I belong to did real well on the small pond for bluegill and bass, a 24" was caught and a 17.
Another one of the members was at Crane falls and did well for 12-14" bass and pumkineeds.
