I figured I would share this pic and story
#1
I was digging around on the computer and found these pics from last year and figured you guys would find it interesting. First the fish in the pic is a cascade river spring run Chinook, its a hatchery fish that has been encoded/tagged with a snout wire tag which is a small corkscrew wire put in there when released as a smolt. The different lengths of wire (each hatchery has its own length)
show if the hatchery fish are straying from the hatchery they were released from. So the hatchery staff wonder up and down the river and they run a wond across the fish and if it has a tag they cut to snout off for record keeping.

So I have this fish staked out on the shore and I noticed a snake bu the fish at first I think its just passing by then I relise is been there for a while...upon closer examination It actually drinking the blood from the gills...never seen anything like it....figured Id ask if any of you have witnessed any thing like that before?

Makes me think of like a lamprey does, but it came after the fish after you caught it?
