Anyone Fish the Salmon by Chalis
#1
Hoping to float part of that in April. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I have only used my toon in still water and when I fished the one and only time for steelhead, I was useing corkies and bouncing the bottom. Did catch a nice native, but now I would like to do it with my fly rod.[Smile]

Yes Thank you, that is a given!![Smile] What about setting up the fly rod. I have a 10' 10w with sinking tip. Thought I would try some egg paterns and egg sucking leeches.

I tied some flies when i went 4 years ago that worked good and i tied alot that didn't do any good. I will try and get some pics of the productive one. When are you going? The 24th or 25th is prime i think.

Here is the website for the Pahsimeroi Hatchery fish count and updates. It was very helpful in planing our trip. It also looks like the run will be later this year. Hope it helps.[cool]

It is basically a put and take fishery. Only the fin clipped hatchery fish may be kept. The fish that make it to the trap are all killed after spawing because i think they will just die anyway. They give them out to the public for free. Pretty cool.
