GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. - The Colorado Division of Wildlife Hunter Outreach Program and the Division of Wildlife Glenwood Springs area office are offering 25 youth hunters between the ages of 11 and 15 the opportunity to participate in a FREE upland bird hunt at Basalt State Wildlife Area. The hunt will take place on Saturday, Sept. 11.
Interested youth must have a hunter education card and be between the ages of 11 and 15 on the day of the hunt. Youth shotguns will be provided or youth can bring their own. Hunters wishing to use their own shotgun must have the gun inspected by a Division of Wildlife officer before the hunt.
Youth wishing to sign up for the hunt should contact the Colorado Division of Wildlife office in Glenwood Springs at (970) 947-2920. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis until the hunt fills.
