Idaho Salmon
#1
I'm watching the main Salmon, and the Little Salmon River flows, and realize that they are high. What I'd like to know is what is the clarity like? 12", 24", 36"?

I can't fish high water, if the water is somewhat clear.

Please let us know the clarity level.

Thank you

Nookie, I've found that if the water is trending down from 3,000-2,800, then the water will be clearing up. If it raises, most likely the water will be turning ugly....

Just called over there. Little River is clear but cold. Main is dropping but milky colored.

It's possible but I think we are through the worst of it. the fish will be pushing hard this next week.

I will look for you. Last year was a pretty small run was it not? I can catch any other fish but salmon always alluded me.

The first year I went I could have thrown hot dogs at them I thought how hard could this be next year did ok year after the only fished I touched was others I netted. I have seen some cool things got some good tips. So seems like a good run so I am excited to get out. I usually only fish the south fork by warm lake so this will be new for sure. I fished riggins once and that was only the post office hole

I have to work til Wednesday, hope to get there soon after that for a few days. Old silver Toyota pu with a canopy and personalized plates. Pretty much a salmon rookie.Have only fished that combat stretch near RR near the stairs, but did manage to catch a fish in spite of myself. Any idea what stretch ya'll be fishing? I'm a little freaked out about the 5:00 am homesteading rush, but am already so excited I can't sleep. Will have some hooks, weight, and yarn, as well as both 50 lb mono AND braid. Will have a crappy old rod with spinning reel on it- not even good enough to pretend to be an ugly stick. Don't even own a net yet, but will be happy to net for anyone who has one handy. I'm a tall, horizontally enhanced, ugly man with a ponytail. Please say hello.
