Hey guys i need your input, i am coming up with a new fishing log for my work and would love to hear what you would want in a fishing log. i was thinking a space for pre fishing notes as well as spots for types of structure fished, water temp and clearity species etc
please list the things most important to you in a fishing log!

Here's a few more ideas:
Weather patterns, such as cloud cover
Wind direction
Barometer - very important when fishing.
Gear used

I think the guys covered it pretty well. To me a log is more than a record of past accomplishments. I have one that my father started and passed down to me. Originally RBase we've ported it to Access in order to keep it alive. I can share that with you if you'd like.
Anyhow, my point is that lakes change over the years. My home water is nothing like it was back in the 80's. So from a "use it moving forward" perspective you want to concentrate on items that are important to you. So put on your thinking cap and consider how you locate fish. Is it
1. based upon depth, structure or water clarity
2. Affected by weather - prefront, postfront or bluebird skies
3 Affected by season of the year (though this can be extrapolated at a later time)
4. Water temp hi, low,
5. Lake Level - was it high, low, rising or falling
#5 is important to me because my lake level is at the mercy of the Corps of Engineers master plan and whatever drought or rain forest weather conditions persist. Other lakes nearby are Georgia Power and I have one that's a Pump Back Hydro - meaning they release water into the lake below and then pump it back up into Oconee. This creates a pseudo current during times when they are operating.
It's all food for thought!
