Can't spend a fortune but looking for opinions on a good inexpensive cruise up to Alaska for my family.
Not needing to fish but would love the sights to be as fishy as possible.
Any input appreciated, thanks.

I was stationed in Anchorage from 2008-2011. Would have loved to retired from the military up there. I know their are cruise lines that pull into Seward Bay, then bus or train passengers up to anchorage. Their are also cruise lines that pull up to the port right outside of downtown anchorage. Most of downtown is accessible by walking. Alaska is truly the last frontier. Don't be surprised to see people walking down main street with a gun on their hip. Its not that they are trying to look intimidating, up their, your not the top of the food chain. Bear and Moose have are often spotted wandering the streets.
Seward Bay is a small port town, lots of boats coming and going. Homer is the same as Seward.

Check Travelocity.com. They often have some pretty good deals on Alaska cruises.
