Curt, thanks for the advise. I'll try some different tactics. My motor will go slow with the trolling plate deployed. I can run at .50 mph. The rattle traps do bounce the bottom at that speed. I had not tried drifting yet, and yesterday the power squadron was so numerous, I didn't feel like being without power incase I had to dodge one of those guys suddenly.
I ran every speed from .50 to 2.5 mph and swapped out lures about every 15 - 20 minutes. Because we didn't get out on the water very early and could only stay a few hours, didn't have time to work as much area as I would normally.
