Booya,
I will answer your question, but first I need to explain The Texas Gulf Fisher at the bottom of my post's.
I actualy am in Ohio Where the current weather is up and down this time of year. ( currently down ) and my statement comes from my life on the Texas Gulf Coast. It is my personal choice for a great place to fish. I would live there now if it was not for my current needs and present disabuilitys. I do still have a home there.
The reports that I have recieved are saying that the Big Reds are in the flats and are being taken with live shrimp and sand crabs for baits of choice. The croakers are running the surf and keeping the anglers verry happy on the piers on the Gulf side of Mustang Island. You can almost choose your own bait with them as they will strike at anything you throw at them. They have been known to take a bare hook on ocasion.

Texas Gulf Coast Fisher.
