Timing is what I wait for at Willard. If you can get there when the water is warm enough and before the new shad of the year get to eating size. Then you can find some good fishing.
I only made three trips this year because of my bear hunt taking so long but in those trips we picked up a couple dozen walleye and on two night we got our limits of wipers for three people.
It wasn't ever fast or furious but we ground it out to get what we did.
It will be
when this big year class of wipers are gone. We have really enjoyed chasing them over the last three years.
