Well, we started off really slow this morning since it was cold and I hadn't asked my FIL if he wanted to go fishing today.. So about 10:30 we hit Hyrum and started off trolling and it was SLOW we went from end to end with only one hit, however, there was two bald eagles hanging out and fishing on the glassy smooth pond, then a rutting buck came down along the waters edge looking to cut the trail of a rutt'in doe... Really fun morning to watch these things and the sound of those eagles just takes me back to Alaska, it was so cool... Well about the time we got back to swim beach Rich picked up a nice bow, only one of the day, in fact he had lassoed it and some how the line tightened on it and he pulled it in without a hook in it.. It was probably 14-15" I didn't measure it before I let it go... then we decided to try perch. We jigged for about 45 minutes with only a couple bumps but no hook ups, but I was seeing lots of perch on the Marcum so I knew they were there... Well I was getting ready to give up skunked, when I decided to try one last rod with a purple and black tube on. As soon as it hit bottom it was game on, I nailed three perch in three drops and they were 9-10"ers which isn't like Pat's 13's on Willard, but for me on Hyrum I was pretty pumped with this size of perch... Well I got Rich rigged up and we both went to catching perch and I think about the time we got to a dozen the size started to drop to 8"ers, but we ended up with the bottom part of a bucket full of perch and it was a fun day... Lake stayed flat and smooth all day for us, but the sun never showed it's face and we had taken a pretty good chill by the time we got in the truck to go home for the day..

They have removed the docks now so if you go, you'll need to deal with no docks and it's a little tough to get in shallow enough to get people in the boat without getting stuck on bottom, but we made it... Anyway have a good one... J
