Good question, but the good news is you don't have to choose between either flasher
or traditional, technology now provides you with both, you can even watch them side by side on the same screen. Lowrance , marcum and my preference humingbird provide you with both. flashers provide you with real time and traditional gives you a little more previous activity in the vicinity of your transducer cone. i have used both, and as i have stated previously the both have there benefits. I am looking at the helix 5, all season package, it comes with the Transducer for Ice fishing. and the Transducer and mount for your boat as well, Lowrance offers the same thing. It is a little more money, but your not buying 2 fish finders.
