Hey I've been seeing folks fishing the west side all week and keep thinking about trying it, but I know next week will put some good safe stuff in place so by the 20th to 21st I'm sure it will be game on... I think if you're off mid week that Tuesday or Wednesday should be where I'd consider it safe especially since they are already on it fishing... But I haven't had time to try it anyway so I've been okay staying away till it's 4"... I'll probably miss the good bite on there this year, but it happens...
Wpahole, I don't know who does the plowing either and years past we didn't have as much snow and I busted through the berm and drove up there, but I honestly didn't like fishing out of that spot anyway and so I try the south road myself, and it's not too terrible far if you want to walk over to that NE bay.... I found it (NE bay)so shallow before that I didn't do great (mostly perch and bluegill and small LMB in the spot I fished), I mean I got fish, but nothing too exciting over there... I like to fish the 11' deep area and I think that NE area was only 5-6' deep where I was fishing and the weeds were so thick, it was hard to find an area where the fish were moving through.. I'm sure others are glad I pointed you away from their favorite area, but I didn't really like it the times I've fished that side... (One exception is when the south and west get too packed with people, then it's a good spot to escape the crowds and the fishing should treat you better then.) Good luck... J
