Always Good To Release Undersized Species Using My Okuma HCS Rods w/a Blue Azores & Cedros Spinning Reel!
Today i was shore casting my Okuma Hawaiian Custom Series Rods with a Blue Azores & a Cedros Spinner for Jacks & Bonefish on the flats. I used fresh crab to shrimp. I ran out of shrimp due to the water "rats" stealing my baits (term for undersized aggressive Jack Trevallies) so i resorted to using shrimp heads tied on by bait thread. I even tried using Big Vic's Bait Bags.
The flats was alive with small sized gamefish. The Jack Trevally rats were stealing my baits. The only semi-decent run was made by a small Bonefish. So i shared how i put together my set-up & released all my catches. It was a cold but entertaining day. Always a good feeling releasing fish to preserve our reefs.
