Not a better place if you plan on fishing Renegade area.  Launching at The Ladders (as long as you don't turn south too soon, because the ice is thin for a ways out where the river enters Strawberry), is the easiest place to enter Strawberry by snowmobile.  However, it would be a long ride to Renegade from The Ladders.
