The boat looked like a 16-18' Jon boat style with the long skinny boat with low sides and a beavertail motor... Nice boat for the marsh, but not so good in waves like we got into... I guess the waves were 2-3' but very close together and capping, I know most ponds that size waves wouldn't be a huge deal, but they were coming from directly behind your boat as you were trying to load, with nothing to shield them so you got full force of the waves pounding into the back of your boat as you're trying to get on the trailer, it wasn't a good situation...
Curt, he had his boat on the trailer when we got to the ramp, but it was still coming over the back of his boat as he was pulling it out, but he said it filled a lot on the ride back to the ramp just from the waves.. I'm sure glad I didn't have a load of boys in his boat on that night... Only thing that may have been better is I would have quit sooner if i would have been in a boat that doesn't take waves like my new one does... It really did great in the waves, I didn't have a worry until I tried to load... then it made it worse because I stuck it out until things got ugly... Oh on the cats spawning, if it's temperature related, Cutler being shallow heats up really fast, so that may be why they have spawned already.. I'm a little bummed about that, because that means the cats won't be where i usually find them, so I've got to do my homework again to get on the fish... Well I'll have to pay attention and see where they move to... Later J
