Not as far as I know. Jon was trying pop gear and hooked smallish trout. Ten second into the retrieve he felt a hard thump and his snubber broke. Those things have heavy line inside the tubing so we think a muskie or a wiper enjoyed the defenseless trout, but it could have been a branch too! This is how fish stories often get started
We didn't target them other than to troll close to the shore frome time to time.

Don't see many trout reports from you, good to see you getting out of your comfort zone. Do you put the chub meat right on the lure, if so, does it affect the action of the lure?
Yes, and maybe. We sweetened both the jigs and the cranks with either crawler or chub tidbits. I put a small amount of whatever on the front hook on the cranks and I can't detect a difference in the action, but there probably is some change.

As for getting out of my comfort zone, it is good and fun. Jon and I fish together a lot right now and he likes to target trout and other things, although he says cats are now his favorite target. Also, I used to work 2 jobs and now I'm down to one. When time was shorter it was harder to justify losing 2 or more hours of good cattin to go see something different

I was up there yesterday and fished for 6 hours and never hooked a chub. On my previous trips I couldn't keep them off. Timing is everything.
I hope you found some good trout to replace the chubs from the previous trip! I had to fish right in the brush to entice chubs on this trip. I think they may be nearing the spawn, hiding from jaws, or both!
