We had a total of two fish follow us to the boat (one fish followed my buddy's lure in and turned at the boat, and followed it back to the boat again, but didn't commit to a strike). On Friday we launched out of Sheep Creek to try and get some respite from the "W." We had made it almost all the way to Carter Creek when we had an engine issue and had to turn around and limp back to the ramp to fix the problem. We lost the weather at that point and stuck close to Sheep Creek throwing marabou jigs for bows... nada. We marked very few fish the whole trip. I think the low pressure front pushed the fish down and turned the dinner dong off.
Saturday was just straight up miserable with the "W" coupled with the cold temps. We were the only boat that launched out of Lucerne as far as I saw.
That's "The Gorge" for you, though! We make plans and work around Mother Nature's plans instead.
Glad you got into a nice fish, though!
Bummer about the wind, that is my nemesis up at the gorge. I try my hardest to go by the wind forecast. I always figure, If I can’t land a parachute I can’t fish. A great day up at the gorg is being able to chase the Lakers for a little while and finish out your day with Some Kokanee. There was none of that for me this trip because of the W. Hope you get your motor issues figured out. My next trip is coming up soon. Looks like sbg89 is doing well with the kokes. I have one of Colton’s Kokanee lures That an old timer, kind of chuckled At when he saw it on my boat. I want to get a Koke on that lure!
