Fishing report
#1
Trouot are hitting on the Arkansas river between Canon City and Salida. Spinners lilke Panther Martins in silver and gold size 4 and 6. Roostertails in bluegray with black and gray hackle and orange coachdog are good colors.size 1/8 oz or 14/ oz work best. River is low, clear and wadable. Best time to go is during the week, weekends the river is loaded with fly fishermen. I went this past Saturday caught 7 fish was only out for about 4 hours. Hearing reports that trout are hitting at Eleven mile resivoir. Also Spinney is open for the year, South Platt between Spinney and Eleven mile fish are biting also. Tried lake Pueblo for bass this past Friday caught only one small 11 incher. Caught this one on a 1/4 oz jig with a smoke and black flake single tail grub. Contrary to some people the lake is lower this year then last year at this time. Walleys are hitting during the evening on a jig tipped with a minnow. I would try a Rapala sinking cd7 in silver with black back and a shad rap same color.
