They worked on it last fall and put a bunch of rocks at the base. It looked like they just dumped them there and leveled them with a loader. The trailer hitch grabbed the ones in the middle and made a mess so I removed the high rocks from the middle of the path and extended it into the water on the left side of the ramp. We got in and out ok after that but it is still marginal. The ranger was cleaning the rest rooms as were leaving and gave no indication that things were closed at all. He did tell me that they hauled thousands of Christmas trees out on the ice at buckboard weighted them down. They hoped that it will help the planters survive longer.
