Big Wood River - June 14th, 2004

FISHING: Good
The Big Wood has really turned on the last couple days. Although water levels are high, (and expected to rise a bit more this week) and wading is tricky, the fish are hungry for big dries and large nymphs.

Big Wood River
This week's weather will be warmer than last weeks, and we expect the Big Wood's waters to rise slightly this week. This should be the last of the runoff. Fishing will be as good as it gets on the Big Wood for the remaindered of June. Wading should definitely be taken seriously on the Wood right now - wade with caution and fish with a friend. Stonefly imitations are working best; size 8-12 Stimulators and size 10-12 rubber-legged Stonefly nymphs. Green Drakes will start to show, so be sure to have a selection of Green Drake dries, cripples and nymphs.
