Thanks for the report smallmouthchaser. Smallmouth are some of the hardest fighting fish and the ones around Massacre Rocks are often real thick. It is no secret that there are smallmouths around Massacre Rocks. The slow fishing discourages most people from fishing for them there. There was a proposal this last year to restrict the harvest of smallmouths on that part of the river but unfortunately it never happened.

There are smallmouths in the Snake River all the way up to Idaho Falls.
This is a picture of a smallmouth I caught this last April on the Snake by Idaho Falls. It is only 13" long but it faught so hard it made me think I had a 20"+ brown on.
