I feel the same way about most wild and planter rainbows in eastern Idaho but I still enjoy catching these "mutts". Most of the cutts in Henry's appear quite pure to me but I think there genetics are far from what the cutthroats in the area were a couple hundred years ago.
Aren't the fine spotted yellostone cutthroats native to the snake river drainages? Do you know why the yellowstone cutthroats in Henry's look more like the yellowstone cutthroats found on the other side of the continental divide?
I would guess that the genealogy of the cutts in Henry's Lake could be traced back to somewhere on the other side of the divide but I haven't heard anything to back this up.
