In 2000, NRA-PVF was involved in 275 campaigns for the U.S. House and Senate, winning in 237 of those races. NRA-PVF endorsed thousands of candidates running in state legislative races and achieved a 82% success rate in those elections. It was also successful in helping elect a number of pro-gun state attorneys general, key positions in the fight to stop reckless lawsuits against the firearms industry.
