Fly Fishing In Idaho
#8
Hi Folks,

Thought I would jump in on this conversation. Winter fly fishing can be some sweet times if you are prepared for the weather. The crowds are down and the fish still feed now and then. A little homework will help you on your water and what time of day etc.

Springfield Reservoir is a small lake and has some very healthy fish. I worry about overcrowding once in awhile, but, it seems to be holding up for now. I have never heard of Smallmouth either coming out of Springfield. You never know, though. My god what a treat to have Mr. Shoulders (Smalllmouth) on the end of your fly line!

Other waters, North Fork Snake River, for instance can still be crowded at time during the winter. Us fly fishers just have to keep our skills sharp!
