Hey BLM, I'm with you, jigging is my world I've done it sence the early 70's. I like the feel of that little tic, thats one reason I fish for walleye so much. but this lake trout jigging has my attention thats for sure. If your not on it when they hit forget it they'er gone. thats why the hook set technique is so inportant. beleve me I know, 2 fish out of about 9 bites, not too good of odds. I'm sure you learned alot, I sure did.
