Lake Powell Striper Fest
#23
Fished the baricade (the floating aluminum structure that keeps you from boating up to the dam), antelope point and buoy #1 Friday and Saturday! Had a fantastic time getting into the Stripers fish averaged about 4 pounds and 25 inches long.

Fished with chovies and chart grubs! The fishing was good with multiple rod hookups frequent. We found that cutting up chovies and chumming just before we cast out lures/chovies, seemed to wake the schools of stripers up.

The south lake should be very good fishing this year due to the lack of forage fish (shad population is very low this year).

The filleting station at Wahweap was very convenient and filleting with the boys was fun even with all the fish we caught!

For more information go to Wayneswords.com this is a site dedicated to the fisherman of Lake Powell and is very informative.

Skippy, I don't recall seeing you, I was in a crestliner!

I can't wait to get back down!
