Lake Mead - Pollutants?
#3
Im not sure why you would assume a lack of response means there is nothing to worry about. Do a simple Google search on Lake Mead Pollutants and I'm sure you will find what you are looking for. Mercury levels in Striper have been a concern, one EPA article advised no more than 3 8oz striper meals a month for a 70KG adult. Perchlorate (rocket fuel) levels have been quite high in the past although I haven't seen anything recently. One source albeit very biased is the local Water stores. The truth is usually somewhere in between the extremes on both sides so it comes down to who you believe and how concerned you are. Radioactive waste is always a hot topic since we are relatively close to the test site but I doubt its that bad or we'd already have skyrocketing cancer in the valley. Let us know what you find out on your own.
