want to go to Newton?

I was up to newton yesterday(wed), and half the lake has open water. I couldn't reach anywhere that had ice more than an inch thick with my chisel (approx 6 feet from shore). There is still ice near the dam, but since I couldn't get across the poor ice by the shore, I couldn't tell how thick it was. No one else had been out that I could tell.
