Never had any luck with minnows, so I stuck to the thing that works for me. I buy the worms the day before I fishing, keep them in the fridge until the morning I leave, and if I don't use them all, I offer them to the fishies for thanks. I don't have to worry about keeping them and the fishies get a treat. We usually go towards Pelican Point and drive up to the waters edge and launch, usually have to walk out a ways before you can sit in the toon without dragging bottom but the toon has a very shallow draft.
