Posted: 8:39 PM- Searchers in Wasatch County are looking for an Orem husband and wife who disappeared Wednesday morning when the boat they were in overturned on Strawberry Reservoir.
Wasatch County Sheriff's Office search and rescue crews and members of the Forest Service began looking for Cathryn Springer Roundy, 23, and Steven Lloyd Roundy, 29, about 3:35 p.m., Capt. John Rogers said.
The couple was last seen about 11:30 a.m. swimming west toward the marina, Rogers said. Two other people in the boat, Michael David New, 27, of Provo, and Kimball L. Roundy, 28, of Springville, were able to swim to the east shore of the reservoir, south of an area known as the Ladders. They walked to Highway 40 where they flagged down a Utah Highway Patrol trooper.
New and Kimball Roundy were cold but didn't suffer any injuries, Rogers said. They were still at the reservoir at 7:30 p.m. waiting for word on the other two.
The group had been on the reservoir fishing from a 14-foot aluminum boat, when the vessel abruptly turned and became swamped with water, Rogers said. The boat was out in the middle of reservoir with little wind blowing when it capsized.
Investigators originally thought the Roundys were wearing blue life jackets when they were last seen, but Rogers later said it appears none of the boat's occupants had life vests on. The missing couple had

been in the water for about three hours before the search began.
About 5:15 p.m., authorities found the blue life jackets that had been in the boat floating north of an area known as the Narrows, but there was no sign of the missing boaters.
"There is still a chance they made it to shore," Rogers said at 5:45 p.m.
A medical helicopter searched for the Roundys during the afternoon but gave up when it got dark. A Department of Public Safety helicopter equipped with infrared night vision equipment was still trying to locate the Roundys along the shore Wednesday night, Rogers said. Boats were also in the reservoir searching for the pair.
