I forgot to mention that there were guys ice fishing Devil Creek when I drove by it. There were some fishing out from the boat ramp and one guy by the dam. From the interstate it appeared one could ice fish most of Devil Creek as longs as they were careful.
This is a picture I took as we were leaving Weston. For some reason the camera didn't save the pictures I took of the carry over fish I caught at Weston. It must have been the camera's fault because I know it wasn't operator error.[crazy]
After leaving Weston and setting up to fish at Deep Creek I realized that I had lost a rod case of mine that included four ice roads. After going back to Weston I found the rod case not far from where we parked. After I looked over the picture that I took before we left Weston I could see the rod case in the pictures. Don't ask me how I was able to take a picture of them and leave without noticing the rod case laying on the ground in front of me.[crazy]
Here is the highlight of the trip. It is a picture of my friend’s fish he caught at Deep Creek. He was very pleased with it and it is his largest rainbow to date. I believe this fish was planted in Deep Creek on 9/22/06. It was the only time Hayspur rainbows have been planted in Deep Creek since in was drained in 2003. The Hayspur rainbows that I was catching out of Deep Creek in December of 2004 and January of 2005 were about 8"-11". If you give these guys a couple years to grow up they can be a beautiful fish. Unfortunately few fish last more than 6 months in most of these small reservoirs around Malad and Preston.
