Freestyle H3 vs. Outcast Prowler
#24
[cool][#0000ff]Never fear, Joni dear, you need not soil your hands nor degrade your craft by using spinning gear for cats. I have taken a grundle of kitties on fly tackle. They hit buggers in black, white, chartreuse or purple in both Willard and Utah Lake. Plus you always have the chance at hanging wipers in Willard and wallies in either lake.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Aggressive BIG cats cruise near the reeds on Utah Lake most of the summer. They are often in water less than 3 feet deep, so you only need a sink tip line. If you can keep them out of the vegetation you can actually bring a few to net. Real slugfest.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]In Willard Bay, when the water is clean, cats will come clear off the bottom to hit lures and flies in 20 feet of water. They are programmed, like the wipers and walleyes, to feed on shad. Flinging a size 2 white crystal bugger along the rocks can put some serious kinks in your sticks...from several species.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]If we don't get a lot of water soon, us tubers and tooners will be the only ones molesting the fish in Willard this coming year. Right now there is not enough water in the marinas to launch boats, after the drawdown.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Definitely gotta look over those new rides. Could be my next craft too.[/#0000ff]
